Call for papers: “Workers’ Insurrections”

The main objective of this special issue of Disjuntiva is to revisit revolution in its political and material context, in order to examine emancipatory projects and spontaneous outbursts arising from deprivation or aspiration, from inherent ideals as well as imported ideologies. However, we are particularly interested in its protagonists: in naming, giving a face and a biography to the rabble so disparagingly described by the authorities.

We seek to foreground industrial workers and peasants, but also artisans, republicans, the unemployed, socialists, children, anarchists, and women —exploring forms of militancy and consciousness forged both within and beyond the factory.

Call for Papers. Thematic dossier: Water and Crisis. Community and Public Responses to Environmental Injustice

The dossier aims to analyze, highlight, and deepen our understanding—from diverse perspectives—of the strategies that seek to restore and strengthen public and communal approaches in the face of the ongoing water crisis. Whether from the state, social rights, and public policies, or from neighborhood, community, or autonomous forms of organization, the intention is to account for solutions grounded in principles such as: reaffirming the public sphere, revisiting communal traditions and practices, employing ecotechnologies and appropriate knowledge that empower collective actors, and fostering the governance of the commons.
